Episode Three: The Stores Strike Back
Jerry Storch, Chairman and CEO, Toys“R”Us, Inc., will debunk myths that the growth of internet shopping is bringing about the demise of “big box” retailing and that the future belongs to internet-only companies. Mr. Storch will discuss that successful brands will be those that build the best consumer-facing network across all channels, incorporating stores, internet, mobile, social and local components. He will demonstrate how Toys“R”Us is leveraging its unique strengths in these areas to grow and thrive over the long-term. sponsored by:

Senior Vice President, Liberty Media Corporation 15+ Years of Consumer Internet Industry – What (If anything) have we learned “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”, said the philosopher George Santayana. Netscape was the first internet IPO in 1995, marking an important milestone for the consumer internet industry. What has happened in the 17 years since then? Hundreds of internet companies have come and gone. Shareholder wealth in the billions of dollars has been created and lost. In hindsight, what seems to separate the winners from the losers, and what can we extract from their experiences? Michael Zeisser has been a humble student of the industry and learned a thing or two from assembling a portfolio of some of the best known eCommerce companies for Liberty Media Corporation. In this presentation, he shares insights from his longstanding involvement with internet commerce and digital media. Michael will highlight the unique dynamics of our industry and draw lessons from what it has taken to navigate them.

Networking is key to the Annual Summit. And, we have something very cool planned for Tuesday night's reception and dinner -- a trip to the Sculpture Park and Galleria at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, right next door to the convention center. Dinner will be served following a cocktail reception. And, you won't want to miss the "EXTREME COLORADO" Theme featuring a rock climbing wall, BMX demos, Micro brew stations and a band!
Transportation will be provided from the further hotels, but since we're next door to the convention center, you can just walk over from the sessions! Additional tickets for this event may be purchased at the Shop.org Registration Desk for $125.

![]() The world around has witnessed change at an unprecedented velocity due in large part to new digital technologies and fast-adapting, innovative companies. Often found at the crossroads of adoption, retailers
interpret the effect of new digital technologies and channels as powerful yet “uncomfortable.” Regardless, they have been forced to embrace this change in their strategies for attracting, retaining and communicating with their customers. Join former Wall Street Journal columnist and
co-producer/co-host of WSJ’s D: All Things Digital, Kara Swisher, and a panel of industry innovators as they discuss the deep impact of digital on the future of retail. |
