Keynote: Mike Fox, Director, Global Vertical Marketing, Facebook

KEYNOTE: Retail to the Power of Digital 

Mike Fox has been with Facebook since 2009 and is the Director of Global Vertical Marketing. His team is charged with developing category-level marketing strategies that work around the globe and across every size marketer.

Prior to this role, Mike headed up the North American Customer Marketing Team, where he partnered with key clients to build comprehensive strategies on the Facebook platform, specifically in Retail. Mike began his career as an Account Planner working in Advertising on clients like Range Rover, Land Rover, and William Grant Distillers. Moving into the client side of the business, he became a Marketing Manager at Sony Electronics where he relaunched the Walkman brand and managed multiple high-value consumer segments. Following his tenure at Sony, he became Director of Marketing for the Snapple Beverage Group, overseeing advertising, promotions, new flavor development, package design, and consumer/trade/channel strategies for the Snapple and Diet Snapple brands.

Prior to joining Facebook, Mike was Vice President of Strategic Integration at CNN, managing a team that developed multi-platform advertiser sponsorships across CNN, Turner Broadcasting, and Time Inc properties. Mike is based in the Menlo Park Headquarters and is a graduate of Syracuse University with a BA in Sociology.

KEYNOTE: Retail to the Power of Digital 

Mike Golden is the President and Founder of ShopRunner. Michael is on the Board of Directors of Pet360, Swirl Networks and was the Chairman of Complex Media from December of 2007 until January of 2010. Previously, Golden led Home Decor Products as President and CEO from July 2002 - December 2007. Before joining Home Decor Products, Golden was the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of GSI Commerce. Prior to GSI, Golden served as Executive Vice-President of Corporate Development and Managing Director of the New York Office of Organic Online, Inc. (now a part of Omnicom) and was the founder and President of Organic Media, Inc. Golden also Co-founded Iguana Studios Inc. and was Chairman until the eventual sale of the company to Change Technology Partners.

Golden received a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Pittsburgh where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. After attending Villanova University School of Law, Michael received a Juris Doctorate and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar.

KEYNOTE: Evolving the Customer Experience 

Jamie Nordstrom has been President of Nordstrom Direct since 2005. Jamie supports Nordstrom.com, mobile, catalogs and fulfillment center operations.

Together with the executive team, Jamie has helped the company improve the shopping experience in-store and online. Jamie and the Direct team have accelerated e-commerce growth by building upon the company's strong multi-channel foundation to deliver better value, broader selection, greater convenience and a richer customer experience online. In 2011, Nordstrom achieved record total net sales of $10.5 and Direct continues to be the fastest-growing part of the business.

A fourth generation family member, Jamie began his career in the stockroom of the Bellevue, Wash. store in 1986. He worked in sales in shoes through high school and college. After graduating from Seattle University, Jamie went on to hold numerous positions with the company in store and buying management. Prior to being named president of Nordstrom Direct, Jamie spent three years as part of a team that successfully implemented and supported the company's perpetual inventory system and multi-channel capabilities. These efforts enabled the company to increase merchandise availability to customers, bring new fashion to customers more quickly, increase sales with less inventory, and reduce expenses and markdowns.

Sameer is a VP of Product Management and one of the first members of the Commerce team at Google. Prior to Google Sameer founded two vertical search and text mining companies, raising venture financing from several firms including In-Q-Tel (venture fund of the Central Intelligence Agency), and completing successful acquisitions of both to public firms. Recently, Sameer served as Executive Vice President of Products at Kofax, a publicly traded software company in the Content Management space. Sameer holds a BS in Computer Science from University of California, San Diego and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School.

KEYNOTE: Jerry Storch

Jerry Storch joined Toys“R”Us, Inc. in 2006 as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. In this capacity, he is responsible for leveraging the strength of the Toys“R”Us brand and positioning the global franchise for growth over the long term. Under his leadership, the company has embraced a “Playing to Win” culture and a commitment to growing its position as THE toy and baby products authority.

Mr. Storch has successfully led efforts to integrate the company’s toy and baby businesses, an initiative that has included the creation, development and execution of the Side-by-Side store concept, which combines Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us under one roof. He has also driven the rapid growth of the company’s e-commerce business on a global basis and, in 2009, added to the company’s portfolio of online brands with the acquisitions of eToys.com, KBToys.com and Toys.com. That same year, he led the company in obtaining the exclusive right to own and operate the legendary FAO Schwarz brand and its website, FAO.com. Additionally, Mr. Storch has championed the company’s omnichannel strategy, creating a seamless shopping experience for customers wherever, whenever and however they wish to shop.

Mr. Storch holds a bachelor’s, a Juris Doctor and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University.

Retail to the Power of Digital

Kara Swisher started covering digital issues for The Wall Street Journal’s San Francisco bureau in 1997. Her column BoomTown originally appeared on the front page of the Marketplace section and also online at WSJ.com.

Previously, Ms. Swisher covered breaking news about the Web’s major players and Internet policy issues and also wrote feature articles on technology for the paper. She has also written a weekly column for the Personal Journal on home gadget issues called Home Economics.

With Walt Mossberg, she currently co-produces and co-hosts D: All Things Digital, a major high-tech conference with interviewees such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and many other leading players in the tech and media industries. The gathering is considered one of the leading conferences focused on the convergence of tech and media industries.

Previously, Ms. Swisher worked as a reporter at the Washington Post. She is also the author of “aol.com: How Steve Case Beat Bill Gates, Nailed the Netheads and Made Millions in the War for the Web,” published by Times Business Books in July 1998. The sequel, “There Must Be a Pony in Here Somewhere: The AOL Time Warner Debacle and the Quest for a Digital Future,” was published in the fall of 2003 by Crown Business Books.

She is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.

One of the UK’s best loved retailers, Marks & Spencer has a unique heritage. Joining the retailer’s board last year, David Walmsley is tasked with achieving its stated goal of becoming a leading international multichannel retailer.

This session will focus on M&S’s multichannel strategy, and particularly its push of digital media in store and international markets. Laura will cover the company’s digitally infused innovation agenda that is enriching the in-store experience, and bringing web engagement into all customer contact.

15+ Years of Consumer Internet Industry – What (If anything) have we learned?

Michael Zeisser is Senior Vice President of Liberty Media Corporation, a leading media holding company. Michael created and oversees Liberty Media’s eCommerce Group of companies, along with investment activities in eCommerce, interactive gaming and digital media.

Michael has led numerous M&A transactions in the US, Canada, and Korea, and assembled Liberty’s eCommerce Group of companies. Michael serves or has served on the boards of Trip Advisor (Nasdaq:TRIP), IAC/InterActiveCorp. (Nasdaq:IACI), Fun Technologies (TSX:FUN), OpenTV (Nasdaq:OPTV), QVC Inc., Provide Commerce, BuySeasons Inc., Backcountry.com, BodyBuilding.com, CommerceHub, GSN/The Network for Games, GoPets Ltd, and SlingMedia.

Prior to joining Liberty Media in 2003, Michael was a partner at McKinsey & Company in New York, where he co-founded McKinsey’s Internet Practice, and was a member of McKinsey’s Media & Entertainment and Private Equity practices.

Michael is a frequent speaker on industry issues. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Silicon Flatirons Center, University of Colorado, and was named Technology Executive of the Year 2009 by the Colorado Technology Association.

Michael earned a business degree with honors from the University of Strasbourg, France and an MBA with distinction from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, where he was a Procter & Gamble International Academic Scholar.
